Serina Hartwell’s Poetry – Hear My Voice

Hear My Voice

Hear My Voice

I stand amongst the crowd and holler out

To be heard

By the many that

Stand before me

My voice is lost

To the clatter and din

I’m surrounded by a sea

Of people, I drown, I’m lost

Forever afloat

Looking for that island

That will support me

Then

One person turns around to face me

To listen intently

To watch my every move

My whisper changes to a shout

Calling to him in the crowd

More turn to face me, as I speak

My words come tumbling out

Sand caresses my feet beneath me

As I look down

My island beneath, all along

I hold my head up high

Once more

And call out to the throng

  1. Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!

Thank you once again and enjoy your Sunday.

    • I am so sorry that I missed your comment and only just replying now, but I found this when reviewing the content on my website. I’m currently just in the process of upgrading it, and thought I’d reply.

It is always a pleasure to share my work with others and an honour. When I hear that someone else is enjoying my work as well, it inspires me to work harder and create even more. I’m so glad that you like my work and happy to hear that you liked it enough to bookmark it. I’m currently working on my website http://www.serinahartwell.com/home.html to make it a better experience for my followers while they wait in between books. I’m busy editing and preparing to release the second book in my saga later this year, so there will be much more to look forwards to.

I try to do a daily blog – Monday to Friday with artwork that I create to tell my story in a different format. I hope that these bring a lot of joy to my followers too and that you will continue to enjoy my work. Have a wonderful Sunday.

  2. I’m really impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Anyway keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice blog like this one these days.

    • Thank you so much for your encouraging comments, Chronic Depression. I unfortunately couldn’t afford to get a professional to build my site for me, so I’m learning as I go along, and so far I’ve built the whole thing myself.

I’m currently building another site that is almost ready to launch. I bought the ‘serinahartwell.com domain name and a website that is independent of any host requiring a follower to create an account, so hopefully it won’t be long before I have another on the go.

I want to make my work as accessible to as many followers as possible, therefore I have another website on blogspot.com. I wouldn’t say that I’m an expert by any means, but it’s all becoming a little more familiar and I’m finding my way around the back pages a little better these days.

I hope you enjoy my posts. I’ll let you into a little secret – I’m just going through the final edits with my publisher, for my very first novel, as we speak. It’s called Hidden and is featured throughout this site, so look out for it. I’m hoping it will be ready for release approximately by the beginning of March sometime.

Again, thank you so much for your support.
