‘Bronte ran faster than she had ever run in her life. Her heart pounded with adrenaline, pumping vigorously throughout her body. She felt scared, but alert. Her heart pounded so fast, she thought it might burst out of her chest. Both breathing heavily, they never stopped until they were safely out of harm’s way. Jenson looked at Bronte’s face. “They really did a number on you, didn’t they?” Bronte could see the sorrow in his eyes. He looked down to see her clutching her stomach. “Are you alright?” he asked, concerned.

“Sure, I’m just a little sore, that’s all.”

“They really don’t like you, do they?”

“No, I suppose not.” Jenson paused for a moment, just looking at Bronte. “Jenson, you can’t fight over me. You just can’t…. not over me.” Jenson looked at her, as he sorted his uniform out.

“Yes I can, Bronte… yes, I can.”‘
